GEFCO has revealed that a rail link to transport vans between Portbury and its Sandtoft regional distribution centre in South Yorkshire, has taken more than 4,000 truck journeys off the road during its first year in operation.

GEFCO has re-opened a rail link between two of its major UK vehicle distribution facilities at Sheerness and Corby. The GEFCO rail link will move vehicles from Sheerness for the first time since 2005 and to begin with trains will run twice a week.
