The GEFCO logistics operation undertaken for Delphi Packard began in 2003. The key objectives of this operation for GEFCO was to ensure the smooth distribution of Delphi components from their factory in Istanbul, Turkey, to GEFCO's regional distribution center in Coventry, from where Ford collects and delivers to their plant in Southampton. On arrival, a GEFCO team organises the line-side sequencing of the delivered parts. The main objective for Delphi was to reduce the current lead-time on this route, as well as gain from GEFCO valuable supply chain expertise and competitive prices.
